One of the most popular sushi place right at down town Gainesville. Great location, plenty of seating in and patio site. We were there just for a quick bite -steamed bun with braised ribs pretty delish, and have a glass of wine. They have huge menu as well from sushi to ramen you name it, they have it. Drinks menu is plenty from sake to local beer. Great service and casual ambience. It's a must if you are in the area.

Dragonfly is such a Gainesville staple, the location in the heart of downtown is so fun for plans before and after! The food is always good and the sushi is super fresh! Prices are steep but expected for what you get I do really recommend the happy hour though! The cocktail list is super fun and they even have flights which I appreciate. Robbie our server was great and if I could give it 4.5 stars I definitely would.

Decent ramen and atmosphere with a mix of sushi and Asian fusion fare. Not good to come when it's too busy, that's when service starts to decline terribly. But a good solid replacement for noodle cravings since the Crane Ramen sadly shut down in the area.

My daughter and I have been coming here for years. This is our favorite place in town, and they always deliver. We order an off menu item and it is our favorite. We get the NY Strip Steak in Brown Butter Sauce. We ask for extra daikon to soak up the yummy sauce. We've spent many of nights with friends and family, and it holds a special place in our hearts.

Last night my friend and I met up for dinner before going to the Hippodrome for a candlelight concert. Dragonfly is always a great restaurant in Downtown Gainesville to have drinks and bites and convo with friends. Last night, unfortunately when we arrived the kitchen was closing in 30 mins at 8pm as the restaurant was hosting their holiday party. Thankfully for us, we already knew what we were drinking and eating. I ordered the secrets of sakurakai which is a vodka based drink that's infused with cucumber. It's a light cocktail and one of my personal go to drinks at Dragonfly. My friend got a passion fruit mojito which she really liked. Since the kitchen was closing early, our food came out pretty quick. I ordered the blue crab fried rice which one of my favorites however this dish missed the par. I believe due to the early closing of the kitchen the rice was not as fresh as I would've liked. It was almost like they gave me the bottom of the pan of their fried rice. But the crab and garlic flavors are very prominent. Even though the fried rice was not as good as I have had previously, the spicy yellowtail was really fresh and on point. It was filled with huge piece of yellowtail and so buttery when you bite into the roll. I probably swallowed this roll down in 5 minutes, it was that good. Overall, Dragonfly is still one of Gainesville's finest sushi and tapa style spot to hit up when you're in the downtown area.

I have been in Gainesville for 4.5 years now and just now got around to coming here after tons of recommendations! I was always worried it would be too expensive or hard to get a table, but neither of those were the case. We got here early so there were plenty of tables (though it did start to fill up as we were eating!) and the prices were really not too bad for the quality and amount of food we got! The sushi rolls were delicious and the spicy tuna crispy rice was the best I've had, it was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The ambiance is very nice and it would be a great spot for a date night or celebration dinner. The service was very quick as well and our server was super helpful. I will definitely be back as there were lots of things on the menu that I still want to try!

I can go on and on about the food at dragonfly!! expect to wait long hours on weekends especially game day weekends. We sat at the sushi bar and it was a top-notch experience as we were able to interact with the chefs and ask their opinions. The atmosphere is modern but loud with lots of tables and unique decor. my recommendations are: black dragon, mango tango, and orenji

When going to dragonfly you know you will be Eatting well. The service they provide is always amazing and just the right atmosphere where you can go for a date night or business dinner. Their food is amazing I have been many times and their crab fried rice is amazing. Also recommend the bomb roll and any other menu items. I haven't found an item I don't like here yet.

I personally have heard not so good things about Dragonfly so I was hesitant to come in. From people saying it's overpriced and saying it's overhyped to some saying that they have great sushi . I decided to try it for myself and make my own decision in if it's worth it. To start off it looks very high end inside. I appreciate the details in the decor and set up of the restaurant. To start off we ordered wontons. The wontons weren't what I'm used to. It was kind of one note and the wrapper to me was too thin. It just was not good feeling in the mouth. It tasted like just cream cheese with a burnt wrapper.it needed something to cut the fat flavor. For the ramen I got the pork ramen but subbed the pork for short rib. It was a crazy idea but so good. It was a great portion and packing so much flavor. I wish I could bottle that up and save it to take home. The short rib was so tender and juicy. The soft boiled egg was as incredible and I'm not a fan of a soft yolk. My friend got some spicy tuna sushi and I am not into raw sushi. I was pushed to try it , peer pressure if you will. I am now a lover of raw sushi. I have always been put off by it because of how fishy it smelled and I've tried sashimi but I think the quality wasn't the best but I'm starting to think maybe I should venture out to high quality sushi places and give it a try. The only thing is the portion size for sushi and the price is just not comparable to me. I might just come back for the ramen and try another appetizer next time.

Dragonfly is a go-to sushi place for me when in Gainesville! It's a nice atmosphere for a date night, birthday dinner or if you're craving some flavorful sushi. I like the bomb roll, where there's tuna, tempura shrimp, krab, avocado and both eel sauce and spicy sauce. The sweetness pairs well with the soy sauce/wasabi. The crispy ebi is a good appetizer, it reminds me of coconut shrimp. Most of the sushi rolls I've tried are pretty tasty!! During happy hour, they also have good deals on drinks and appetizers and a few select rolls. The staff is friendly and I really enjoy dining in here:)
